Flowers have always been a favorite gift for Valentine’s Day due to their colorful and fragrant messages of love. Giving a special person in your life a Valentine’s Day plant is a beautiful variation on this tradition.
A potted rose, tulip, or orchid that will continue to bloom for a long time is a beautiful gift and a living reminder of your love. Green plants freshen the air and add a comforting touch to your Valentine’s life.
You can add an extra touch to your gift of a Valentine’s Day plant by adding chocolates, candles, or plant care accessories. For example, if you are looking for a unique gift, The Devotion comes with a heart-shaped succulent and a Brooklyn Candle Studio Love Potion Travel Tin Candle.
Valentine’s Day plant delivery will ensure that your gift arrives securely packaged and in good time.
What are the best plants to send for Valentine’s Day?
Your choice depends on the person and the message you want to send with Valentine’s Day plants. Red roses are the classic symbol of true love, and orchids are a good gift for a new relationship.
The pink anthurium stands for friendly love and makes a great gift for friends and relatives. Green plants like the sweetheart plant or the Chinese money plant freshen the air while adding an extra touch of life to any home.
If your Valentine lacks a green thumb or is too busy to look after a plant, you could choose hardy succulents like the cute little heart-shaped Hoya Heart cacti.
How will the plants be packaged?
Your gift of a Valentine’s Day plant will be packaged securely in a pink UrbanStems branded box with a floral design. In a local delivery zone — at present, Washington, DC, and New York City — the plant may be delivered in a signature Urban Stems poppy gift tote bag.
Plants are already potted, so all the gift recipient has to do is remove them from the box and find the right spot to display them.
Plus, the package includes a personalized notecard with a message from you.
How does nationwide delivery work?
Next-day delivery is available for addresses in the US located outside the DC and NYC bicycle and car courier same-day delivery areas.
Once a package has been scanned and is in the FedEx system, the sender will receive an email with the tracking number and link. Signatures are not needed for delivery. FedEx may leave the package at or near the front door, with a concierge, in the mailroom, or at a secure pickup location.
The sender will be sent a confirmation email once the delivery has been made.
NOTE: As the volume of shipments increases during the holidays, please expect delays in notifications at this time.
How to care for Valentine’s Day potted plants?
Unpacking and Setting Up the Plants
Live plants should be removed carefully from the packaging to avoid breakages.
Plants will be somewhat stressed after their journey and will need natural light and water to recover. If any foliage has been damaged during shipping, it should be clipped or cut away using a clean blade.
Plants should not be repotted right away to avoid stressing them. Wait at least two weeks if you want to move the plant to a different container.
Care of Valentine’s Day Plants
Each plant comes with a care card that tells you how to look after it, with specific instructions. In general, plants need natural light, though not all require direct sunlight.
Plants need to stay hydrated, so you should make sure the soil is moist. Water the plant when the soil begins to dry out, but avoid overwatering, as this will weaken the roots. Most plants need less water in cooler weather.
