As 2024 winds down and we all begin to think on resolutions, goals, and manifestations for the coming year, we want to share our predictions for Floral Trends in 2025. Our Floral Designer, Justin Lievano, invites you into our creative process, so that you can be a floral tastemaker in your own right in the new year. Without further ado, here is UrbanStems’ 2025 Floral Trend Report.
Trend: Rococo Revival & Maximalism
Suggested Bouquets: The Candy Heart & The Aphrodite
Maximalism is back: The bold and the ornate are once again, chic! For floral designers this is always exciting news because it means designing luscious confections full of exquisite blooms. Don’t get me wrong - I do love to work spare and play with negative space, but I just can’t help falling for pillowy arrangements of plush garden roses, ranunculus, and scabiosa that come together to create a sort of royal, rococo feeling. Treat yourself like an aristocrat and send blooms that say “je t’adore!”
Trend: Playful & Whimsical Elements
Suggested Bouquets: The Devastation & The Mood Setter
Let’s stay playful together! There are many ways to be playful, and we’re ready to embrace them all. Whether that’s a carefree design element like the craspedia in our Firecracker, flowers that feel whimsical by their nature like tulips, or a frisky gift like The Mood Setter (a stunning bouquet paired with Maude’s signature Shine Personal Lubricant), we believe sending flowers should be fun! It’s easy to lose yourself among all the stresses of life, because sometimes everything feels heavy. We hope our flowers can be a reminder to move lightly through the world and keep things a little fun-loving.
Trend: Vintage & Timeless Blooms
Suggested Bouquets: The Lace & The Athena
Nostalgic and vintage inspired blooms: We’ve heard whispers of a “beige rebellion” lately, essentially people rebelling against all beige interiors and ecru wardrobes. Personally, we can’t cosign that because it would mean giving up soft and romantic palettes like those in The Lace! In 2025, we actually think creamy and tawny tones will continue to be popular because they always seem to catch that note of vintage romance. And it’s not just cut flowers! We find that a crisp, white orchid in a neutral but slightly earthy looking vessel can evoke the same vintage beauty.
Trend: Bold & Deep Colors
Suggested Bouquets: The Love Potion, The Snowfall, & The Winter Blossom
Bold & vibrant color palettes: When designing our collections, we love the way that rich, deep hues can introduce drama and sophistication simultaneously! Some of our most popular arrangements this fall and winter have had deep, moody color palettes or pops of darker tones to create eye catching contrast. We love the idea that flowers can take us to all sorts of places emotionally; from bright and cheery to the moody and witchy. For 2025, we’ll be asking: why coast when you can live life in the deep end?
Trend: Renewal & Self-Care
Suggested Bouquets: The Be Mine & The Spoil Her
Renewing you!: There’s lots of noise being made these days about self-care so it’s always good to remember that self-care can take many different forms. As long as it’s something that makes you feel cared for, we support it. At Urbanstems, of course we feel cared for when getting a thoughtful gift like a sweet bouquet and Kate McLeod Daily Lotion Stone. But we also know that keeping flowers and plants in your home has huge benefits for mental and physical well-being, including better sleep and faster recovery time from illness. So in 2025 we invite you to bring some cheerful greenery and flowers into your space. We promise, it’ll be a vibe shift in the best way!
